Steve Kerr, Warriors react to Donald Trump cancelling Eagles’ White House visit
Steve Kerr has been one of the most outspoken voices in the NBA when it comes to disagreeing with Donald Trump, so you can probably guess what the Warriors coach thought of Trump’s decision to cancel the Super Bowl champions’ visit to the White House this week.
On Tuesday, Kerr criticized Trump for intentionally dividing the country for his own personal gain. He also praised Eagles players for the work they have done within their communities.
Warriors Coach Steve Kerr: "The president has made it pretty clear he's going to try to divide us, all of us in this country, for political gain. It's just the way it is. We all look forward to the day we can go back to just having a celebration of athletic achievement."

Steve Kerr: "The irony is that the Eagles have been nothing but fantastic citizens in their own community. I've been reading about Malcolm Jenkins, Chris Long; these guys are studs, they're amazing. It will be nice when we can just get back to normal – in three years."

Draymond Green echoed those sentiments, noting that perhaps the White House visit should no longer be a tradition if the president is going to be revoking invitations.

LeBron James spoke for both the Cavaliers and Warriors earlier in the day when he said players from either team would turn down any invitation to the White House after the NBA Finals. Stephen Curry and others had no problem with what LeBron said.

The Warriors skipped their visit to the White House last year, so it makes sense that they would do the same if they won another title. And considering the main reason why Trump probably disinvited the Eagles, there’s a good chance he would have done the same with either the Warriors or the Cavs. As Green said, the tradition of visiting the White House may need to be put on hold while Trump is in office if this pattern continues.
