Report: Fewer than 10 Eagles players were going to attend White House
Maybe now we know the reason President Donald Trump cancelled the Philadelphia Eagles’ visit to the White House — he was scared of being embarrassed.
The Eagles were set to visit the White House on Tuesday to be congratulated for winning the Super Bowl. However, some players did not want to attend because of a severe difference in political viewpoints from the president.
According to NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo, the Eagles’ owner left it up to the players to decide if they wanted to go, and the team was going to send a small group for the visit. Just how small of a group? Garafolo says it was going to be fewer than 10 players.

Having such a small group of players at the White House would have led to endless mocking. If the report is true, it’s no surprise the image-conscious president cancelled the visit to make it look like he had the upper hand. This is very similar to what he did to the Golden State Warriors.
