Report: Suns could trade away 2 more players

The Phoenix Suns may be continuing their roster overhaul.

Suns wings Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale are both on the trade block, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints reported on Friday. Siegel made the revelation during an appearance on the “PHNX Suns” podcast.

The news comes after the Suns already traded away Kevin Durant in a record-setting deal last month and then ate a lot of money in order to buy out Bradley Beal. While Phoenix is now out of both the first and the second aprons of the luxury tax as a result of those moves, they are still looking to do some trimming.

Allen, 29, was rewarded with a four-year, $70 million extension from the Suns after a career year in 2023-24 (13.5 points per game on scorching 50/46/88 shooting splits). But Allen regressed a good amount last season with 10.6 points per game on 45/43/82 shooting splits and still has three more years left on that extension.

As for O’Neale, 32, he also has three more years left on his deal (with the Suns owing him $32.6 million overall). Like Allen, O’Neale is a 3-and-D role player but one who provides limited upside as a 9.1-point-per-game scorer last season.

The Suns just gave an enormous extension to franchise player Devin Booker, who is still worth building around as a 28-year-old who is among the league’s very best bucket-getters. But beyond Booker, it looks like Phoenix wants to get younger and faster now that Durant and Beal have been sent on their way.
