Teammate has fantastic description for Boban Marjanovic
Boban Marjanovic is massive even by NBA player standards, and that makes him a phenomenal defensive presence off the bench some nights. But when he starts scoring points in bunches, that’s just plain unfair.
Marjanovic scored a season-high 19 points in just 13 minutes during the Los Angeles Clippers’ loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. The majority of those points — 11 to be exact — came from the free throw line, proving that defenders had no answer other than to hack his 7-foot-3, 290-pound frame as he went to the basket. Boban doesn’t get into every game, but Clippers point guard Patrick Beverley said he’s like a “cheat code” when he does.
Pat Beverley on Boban Marjanovic, who scored a season-high 19 points in 13 minutes: “He’s a cheat code. We know he’s a cheat code and we put the cheat code in today. But we needed some type of energy. And he did his job. He came in and did what we was supposed to do.”

Marjanovic is an important role player, and we were reminded of that with the way the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft felt having to go up against him a couple weeks ago. Even though the Clippers ended up losing on Wednesday, having a teammate call you a “cheat code” seems like a pretty big compliment.
