Many outsiders have had a desire to try ripping apart the relationship between Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, but the Oklahoma City Thunder stars will not let it happen. Instead, they really seem to enjoy one another.
Durant called Westbrook the team’s best player and talked about it Thursday. His comments delineate the unselfish nature of the relationship between the two players.

In a day when many players are all about themselves, their brand, and doing what’s best for their legacy, you have Durant sitting there being unselfish. This sort of talk coincides with his self-given (and short-lived) nickname of “the servant,” which admittedly was worse than his other nicknames.
Why is this sort of quote newsworthy? At a time when there is a lot of talk about Durant potentially leaving OKC for the Wizards or someone else, it’s important to remember how strongly he feels about Westbrook and his other teammates. He knows how good of a running mate he has and that he might not find that elsewhere.
