Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch wanted some justice after his own player injured him earlier this week.

Finch on Sunday was accidentally tackled by Timberwolves point guard Mike Conley Jr. late into their team’s Game 4 win to clinch their first-round series against the Phoenix Suns.

Conley was bumped by Suns guard Devin Booker right into Finch, who was standing along the sideline at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Ariz.

Finch suffered a torn patellar tendon in his right knee from the collision.

Conley was named the 2023-24 Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year days later. Conley on Wednesday appeared on KFAN with Dan Barreiro and discussed winning the award.

The Timberwolves veteran revealed that Finch hilariously requested for Conley to be stripped of the award for injuring his own coach.

“He wanted to put a word in about me winning that award,” Conley said, via Sports Illustrated’s Tom Dierberger. “He wants to veto it because I hurt him.

“He’s still got his jokes and stuff so it seems like he’s in good spirits. Hopefully the recovery process is that so he’s able to come on the trip [to Denver] and be there for the first few games.”

Finch successfully underwent surgery Wednesday to repair his injured knee. One recent sighting of Finch had some Timberwolves fans optimistic about his chances of returning to the sidelines this postseason.
