Timofey Mozgov sent to Magic in three-team trade
Timofey Mozgov is on the move once again.
After being traded by Brooklyn to Charlotte this offseason, Mozgov is now headed to yet another team — the Orlando Magic.
Mozgov is being traded to Orlando as part of a three-team trade also involving the Hornets and Chicago Bulls, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Magic also will receive Jerian Grant from Chicago.
Bismack Biyombo goes to Charlotte, while the Bulls get Julyan Stone.
The Magic and Hornets are essentially trading the contracts of overpaid centers. Mozgov is making $16 million this season and $16.7 million in 2019-20, while Biyombo is making $17 million per season each of the next two years (assuming he opts in for 2019-20).
Mozgov is unlikely to see many minutes with the Magic, who already have Nikola Vucevic entrenched, as well as rookie Mo Bamba, who will need minutes.
