Tony Allen hilariously chants ‘first team all-defense’ after steals (Video)
Tony Allen is one of the best defensive players in the NBA, and he is not at all shy about letting everyone know it. Even when he’s in the middle of playing a game.
Allen played some lock-down defense on Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson during Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals Tuesday, forcing the guard into several turnovers. The best part wasn’t Allen’s techniques to get the steals, but rather the crap he talked after forcing them.
Allen was mic’d up for TNT’s “Inside Trax” and we got to hear his taunt.
“First team all-defense,” he repeatedly chanted after getting steals.
Here’s the first steal he got:
And here he was chanting it again after another steal:
I thought I loved Allen after he gave away Ramen noodles for Halloween, but this just takes it to another level. Love this guy. Also, he’s been named to the NBA’s All-Defensive first team three times and All-Defensive second team once. He’s a baller. That’s easily the best self-reverential in-game trash talk we’ve heard since LeSean McCoy.
