A new report shed some light on just how severe Tyrese Haliburton’s calf strain is.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Thursday that Haliburton intends to try and play in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Thursday. However, Charania said if this were the regular season, Haliburton’s injury is severe enough to sideline him for multiple weeks.
“I was told today, if this was the regular season, Tyrese Haliburton would be missing multiple weeks,” Charania said on ESPN’s “NBA Today.”

Haliburton has said he has every intention of playing in Game 6, even though he was walking with a visible limp after the Pacers’ loss in Game 5. He was held scoreless in that loss, and with the severity of the injury, that is not a huge surprise.
The Pacers must win Thursday to keep their season alive and force a Game 7. Haliburton will do everything he can to make that happen, but he is playing through an injury that would have him sidelined at virtually any other point of the season.
