Beloved NBA halftime performer Red Panda suffered an injury during her performance on Tuesday night, and we have new details regarding what happened.
According to TMZ Sports, Red Panda suffered a fractured left wrist when she fell while performing at halftime of the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn. on Tuesday (video here). She spent 11 hours in the hospital, and is now set to meet with an orthopedic surgeon for further repairs.
The report added that Red Panda’s fall was the result of the left pedal on her unicycle being damaged in transit. A representative said the many well-wishes she has received “(mean) the world to her.”

Red Panda has become a staple of NBA halftime shows and is a fan favorite. Her act involves balancing on her unicycle, estimated at seven feet tall, and catching metal bowls that she throws onto her head using her free leg. She has even performed at the NBA Finals before, though not completely without incident.
It is unclear when Red Panda will once again be able to perform, but one would assume she will be sidelined for a while. Fortunately, she has months to heal up before the NBA season gets into full swing.
