Video: James Harden’s fellow trade partner was hilariously ignored by media

Paul Millsap at a press conference

It was all eyes on James Harden during his introductory press conference on Tuesday… so much so that the media almost forgot about the existence of Harden’s fellow trade acquisition.

The Philadelphia 76ers introduced Harden and Millsap, both of whom they acquired in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets last week. The former NBA MVP Harden was the center of attention as expected. But what wasn’t as expected is that it took 15 whole minutes (per ESPN’s Tim Bontemps) before Millsap was even asked a single question, as he was ignored by reporters in favor of Harden. When one reporter finally did ask Millsap a question, he hilariously replied, “First off, appreciate it. It was getting a little weird up here.”

Check out the funny video.

Millsap is no scrub either. He is a 16-year NBA veteran who has made four All-Star teams and an All-Defensive team over the course of his career. But he was completely overshadowed by Harden, which is not too surprising.

Harden made a lot of noise before leaving the Brooklyn Nets and will likely continue to make noise as a member of the 76ers. But if Millsap can provide quality minutes of his own off the bench for Philly the rest of the season, he may not be as easily forgotten as he was on Tuesday.
