Sacramento Kings big man Precious Achiuwa showed no fear when he tried to troll a referee during a game on Sunday.
In the third quarter of a game against the Utah Jazz at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif., Achiuwa was hit with a traveling call after trying to finish a lay-up in transition. Achiuwa couldn’t believe the call.
A replay of the play showed that there should not have been a violation called on him, as he merely slowed down without using an illegal step before putting up a shot.
Nevertheless, he got another chance on the break during the next Kings possession, and this time he made it count with an emphatic dunk. He didn’t stop there. Achiuwa looked at the same referee and mockingly made a traveling gesture. Fortunately for the former Memphis Tiger, his antics did not draw a technical foul, as play continued.
Here’s a video of what happened.

Achiuwa was feeling it during that game, and he was not going to allow a bad call to ruin his evening. He finished with 20 points on 10/15 shooting with 11 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist and 1 block in 33 minutes of a 116-111 win, while DeMar DeRozan paced the Kings with 41 points on 11/21 shooting.
With the San Antonio Spurs visiting the Kings on Tuesday, Achiuwa will need his footwork at its best against Victor Wembanyama.
