Trae Young vs. New York Knicks Fans: The Sequel definitely did not disappoint this week.
A hilarious video of the Atlanta Hawks star Young trash-talking a Knicks fan during Tuesday’s contest at Madison Square Garden went viral. While play was stopped in the fourth quarter, Young went over to the fan, made an “L” gesture with his hand, and told him to “Hold that L real quick.” The trash-talk backfired though, as Young’s man, Immanuel Quickley, cut on Young while he was talking to the fan and eventually scored on the play.
Check out the funny clip (but beware of the bad language).

Is there any current player more antagonistic to a fan base than Trey Young v New Yorkers? Got heckled all night but didn’t forget about it. Lonce the game was out of reach came back and told the man to “hold that L” 😂😂 pic.twitter.com/J242dhcqfE

Young was talking his smack when the Hawks had the game in the bag already, holding an eight-point lead with under 25 seconds left to play. Quickley’s layup only cut the lead to six, and Atlanta would win 117-111.
The All-Star guard Young, who dropped 45 points in the game, has fully embraced his role as New York’s most hated ever since last year’s playoff series against the Knicks. He has even gone back to clown on the locals in non-basketball settings as well. Tuesday’s trash-talk moment was just the latest in one of the funniest relationships between player and opposing fanbase in all of sports.
