Carson Hocevar was not happy with Chase Briscoe during Sunday’s Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.
In the final stage of Sunday’s race, Hocevar looked like a dark horse to win the Hollywood Casino 400. The Spire Motorsports driver took the lead on lap 172 and appeared poised for at least another top-10 finish.
But Hocevar’s No. 77 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 spun on lap 242 to bring out a caution. The 21-year-old let his team know who he thought was to blame.
“I didn’t hit anything. Just Chase Briscoe f—ing sucks. He did the same thing to the [Kyle Busch],” Hocevar said over his radio (profanity censored by LBS).
Briscoe was partly at fault for the restart that preceded Hocevar’s spin-out. While racing with then-race leader Kyle Busch on lap 235, Briscoe pinched Busch into the wall coming off of turn 2. Like Hocevar, Busch blasted Briscoe following the race.

Hocevar must have felt Briscoe did something similar to him, resulting in the former’s late-stage slide.
Hocevar fell all the way to 32nd, while Briscoe finished 24th. Busch ended up at 19th following his lap 235 spin.
Sunday’s result was Hocevar’s third-worst finish through 30 races this season. The Rookie of the Year favorite has five top-10 finishes in his first full season racing in the Cup Series.
