Morris Claiborne was one of the reasons the Cowboys surprised the defending Super Bowl champs on Wednesday night, as he helped shut down New York’s talented receiving duo of Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks. The No. 6 overall pick is expected to be one of the keys to an improved Dallas defense this season, but we may not have expected him to give his parents the keys to a sweet Dodge Challenger with a Cowboys paint job.

According to Busted Coverage, the photo you see above was sent in by someone who lives in Claiborne’s hometown of Shreveport, La. We tend to believe Claiborne bought the car for his parents, because it’s either that or there is someone out there who is just way too big of a Claiborne fan.

For those of you are thinking this is how NFL rookies wind up filing for bankruptcy, the former LSU standout can spare it. Challengers aren’t all that expensive, and his rookie deal is worth a modest $16.26 million. When he gets into Floyd Mayweather territory and starts buying cars like this one, then we can start making fun of him.

Kansas City fan Steve Graham has a Chiefs glass eye (Picture)

Steve Graham is a 58-year-old Chiefs fan who lost his eye in a dart accident when he was 13 years old. If that sounds like an awful way to lose an eye, I’m sure it is. Not that there could ever be a good way to lose an eye, but I can think of a few that would be less traumatizing than ones that involve a dart. According to the Chiefs fan blog Arrowhead Addict, Graham has been a die-hard fan ever since he watched the Chiefs win the Super Bowl in 1969 — two years after his accident.

The glass you eye you see him sporting above is simply Graham’s game day attire. He says his doctor recommended the design so he can make it part of his Sunday best, but that he has two other artificial eyes that match his left eye as to not freak people out. If it were me, I’d wear it all the time. You think getting a tribute tattoo like this one or this one makes you a huge fan? Trying wearing your team’s favorite logo in your eye.

Fan wins Dwyane Wade autographed shoes at Michael Jordan’s camp; Wade tells him signature is fake (Picture)

Some lucky fan recently won a pair of sneakers that were autographed by Dwyane Wade at Michael Jordan’s basketball camp. Or, so he thought. The photo that you see above was shared by Twitter user @Karimelkhatib with an accompanying tweet that read, “Won @DwyaneWade signed shoes at Michael Jordan’s flight school.” Unfortunately, D-Wade himself had to break some very bad news to Mr. Khatib.

“That’s cool,” Wade replied with a tweet of his own. “If only (that) was my real signature.”

And cue the buzz kill. Not sure how this could have happened, but I can’t see why Wade would lie about it. Even if he didn’t remember signing the shoes, everyone can tell what their own signature looks like. I’d hate to be the recipient of the sneakers at the moment you realize this Justin Bieber card will always be worth more than your new collector’s item. Hopefully D-Wade does the right thing and sends him something with a real autograph on it. It’s not Khatib’s fault that Air Jordan’s camp gave him the shaft.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is rocking a green ‘mohawk’ and goatee (Video)

There seems to be a trend developing with former Cardinals defensive backs getting funky haircuts. First it was Giants safety Antrel Rolle getting a glow-in-the-dark hairdo, and now it’s Eagles cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie rocking a green stripe down his hair and on his goatee.

DRC says his new hairdo can be attributed to a pact made with teammate Nnamdi Asomugha.

“It goes back to OTAs,” Rodgers-Cromartie told CSN Philly. “Me and Nnamdi were growing our hair. We were like ‘let’s do something crazy.’ So he came in with a hi-top (fade). At first I thought it was a joke, but he was like ‘come on, D, you gotta do something.’ So I went with the green mohawk.”

DRC calls it a mohawk — and the dyed green stripe does create that illusion — but you really need the sides shaved for that to be the case, so his ‘do really doesn’t qualify. It certainly is interesting looking, though it probably won’t last long.

New Notre Dame football gloves say ‘Play like a champion today’ (Picture)

College football is almost as much about the swag as it is about winning games. With all the new uniforms, alternate jerseys and futuristic helmets that are released every season, it seems like the way a player looks is just as important as how he performs. As you can see from the photo above that Ryan Grooms of the Notre Dame Football Equipment Room tweeted on Tuesday, the Fightin’ Irish have decided to decorate their gloves with their famous “Play like a champion today” slogan for the upcoming season.

The font is the same as the sign the Notre Dame players hit every time they take the field on their way out of the locker room. While some will certainly say it’s cheesy, we’ve seen much worse in terms of accessories and a number of uniform changes that certainly weren’t needed. If nothing else, Notre Dame’s gloves at least represent a school tradition. In this day and age, that has to count for something.

Jeff Van Gundy puts on red glasses to join the cool crowd (Picture)

Jeff Van Gundy became a trending topic on Twitter before Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals between the Celtics and Heat even began. After looking at the picture above, it’s easy to see why. I guess that was his way of connecting with the cool NBA kids crowd that consists of LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Dwyane Wade.

Once the actual game began, Van Gundy went overboard defending the Heat and LeBron James. It was almost like he was trying to make up for all the unfair criticism James has received. Either that, or he was subtly lobbying for the Heat coaching gig in case Erik Spoelstra gets fired.

The NBA store is selling Dwight Howard ‘Loyalty’ shirts (Picture)

If the T-shirt you see above was available for purchase on a Magic fan blog, we would appreciate it as a genius form of sarcasm. However, it’s not. Believe it or not, the NBA store is selling Dwight Howard shirts with the word “Loyalty” across the front of them. Considering it was recently reported that Howard is disgusted with the Magic and wants out of Orlando this offseason, that’s an interesting word to choose.

Dwight may have chosen to not opt out of his deal with Orlando and got his wish from the front office when Stan Van Gundy was fired, but if he is considered a loyal person there’s something seriously wrong with our society. As soon as he gets traded, I envision a lot of Magic fans buying these T-shirts just to light them on fire.
