Injured Chuma Okeke inspired Auburn teammates with video
Chuma Okeke was unable to travel to Minneapolis for the Final Four, but that did not stop him from supporting his teammates.
Okeke, who is in Auburn recovering from surgery he underwent to repair a torn ACL, sent a video message to his teammates before their Final Four game against Virginia.
CBS’ Tracy Wolfson reported that Okeke sent his team a good luck video. Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said the video got them fired up.
Okeke suffered a torn ACL in Auburn’s Sweet 16 win over North Carolina. The team played in the Elite Eight without him and still managed to beat Kentucky.
The sophomore averaged 12 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season. He led the Tigers with 20 points and 11 rebounds in the win over North Carolina.
