UConn head coach Dan Hurley is known for his fiery personality, and he clearly thinks there has been some hypocrisy with the way the media has covered that aspect of his career.
Hurley has drawn criticism throughout his career for his actions toward officials. He has been given technical fouls for cursing at referees on more than one occasion. He also went viral for his profane message about the officiating crew after UConn was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament this year.
On Saturday night, college basketball reporter John Fanta indicated that Florida head coach Todd Golden and Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl had both cursed at the officiating crew during the Final Four game between their two teams.

“Both coaches have shared a lot of words with the officials in this game that are not safe for television,” Fanta wrote on X.

Hurley responded to Fanta’s observation on Sunday morning with a five-word message that was clearly aimed at his critics.
“No way…What a disgrace!” Hurley wrote.

It seemed very obvious that Hurley was mocking those who have an issue with his behavior during games. Though, some of the things Hurley has said to refs invite criticism.
Hurley expressed regret earlier in the season after he may have cost the Huskies a win with one of his outbursts. Still, the two-time national champion thinks a lot of the finger wagging is overdone, which is why he could not resist commenting on what happened during the Final Four.
