Duke lucks out again as Virginia Tech misses close shot at buzzer
Duke did it again.
The Blue Devils barely squeaked out a victory for the second game in a row in the NCAA Tournament. They were up 75-73 on Virginia Tech with just over a second left in Friday’s Sweet 16 game and the Hokies had the ball under the basket. Virginia Tech ran a perfect out of bounds play to free up Ahmed Hill for a shot next to the basket. He barely missed.

Hill really couldn’t have gotten a better look, but he was so focused on getting the ball out quickly that he didn’t catch it for his best shot attempt.

The Blue Devils ended up winning 75-73 to advance to the regional final against Michigan State.
In case you forgot, Duke won by an even closer margin in their previous game against UCF.
