Garrison Brooks loses tooth from Washington player’s elbow
North Carolina’s Garrison Brooks took a pretty nasty blow from an errant elbow and paid the price for it.
Brooks left North Carolina’s second round game against the Washington Huskies after taking an errant elbow to the face from Washington’s Noah Dickerson. According to the school, Brooks required stitches on his lower lip, had one tooth loosened, and another potentially fractured.
Update on Garrison Brooks from a #UNC spokesman: "He has a cut lower lip with stitches. One loose tooth, one tooth possibly fractured. His return to the game is TBD."

The damage was quite obvious on TV.

Perhaps surprisingly, Dickerson was not called for a foul on the play. Brooks did not return by halftime, and his second half status remains uncertain.
These things do happen in basketball. Hopefully Brooks can get himself fixed up good as new.
