Georgia State made improvements to Ron Hunter’s chair
Georgia State head coach Ron Hunter provided a moment that will live forever in NCAA Tournament lore when he fell out of his chair after his son R.J. hit a huge three-pointer that helped the Panthers beat Baylor in the first round. Hunter has been coaching from the chair since tearing his Achilles while celebrating Georgia State’s victory in the Sun Belt Championship.
Ahead of Georgia State’s second round matchup with Xavier, the school attempted to upgrade coach Hunter’s chair. “We have an improved (or at least NCAA-approved) Ron Hunter’s chair on court today. #battletested #MarchMadness” appeared on the GSU Panthers Twitter account Saturday afternoon along with the above photo.
Georgia State’s NCAA Tournament run came to an end as they fell to Xavier by a final score of 75-67. However, Ron Hunter and his chair made quite the big splash this week and won’t soon be forgotten.
