Ron Hunter falls off his chair after son makes huge 3-pointer (Video)
Georgia State head coach Ron Hunter was so elated after his son R.J. made a 3-pointer to help the Panthers bury Baylor in a 14-3 upset Thursday that he fell out of his chair. Literally.
Hunter tore his Achilles’ tendon while celebrating his team’s Sun Belt win on Sunday that helped them qualify for the NCAA Tournament and has been coaching from a chair ever since. He has been doing doing his best to stay in the game despite his limited mobility, and the injury certainly hasn’t limited his enthusiasm.
Watching his son help propel the team to victory with a huge 3-pointer that gave the Panthers a 57-56 win was enough to knock him out of his chair.
That wasn’t it. Earlier, Hunter was sliding around in his chair to show his team proper defense:
The Panthers came back from down 12 with under 3 minutes to go to get the win. R.J. Hunter scored 12 of the team’s final 13 points.
