Two Indiana players suspended for failed drug tests
This has not been a good week for the Indiana Hoosiers basketball program.
Days after freshman Devin Davis was taken to the hospital after being hit by a teammate’s car, IU coach Tom Crean announced on his radio show that two players were being suspended four games for failed drug tests.
Troy Williams and Stanford Robinson are suspended for the failed drug tests. Williams, a sophomore forward, averaged 7.3 points per game last season on 50.9 percent shooting. Robinson, a sophomore guard, averaged 6.4 points per game last season.
In addition to the suspensions for Williams and Robinson, Crean says freshman Emmitt Holt will be suspended four games for allegedly driving into Davis. Police say Davis was mostly at fault for being hit by his teammate’s car because the youngster “jumped” in front of it. Both players had been drinking, and Holt has been cited for DUI under the age of 21.
This is a continuation of the many problems Indiana has experienced this year. Robinson and Yogi Ferrell were charged in April for underage drinking and possession of a fake ID. Junior Hanner Mosquera-Perea was arrested in February on DUI charges.
Former Indiana players Cody Zeller and Jordan Hulls shared their thoughts on what’s going on with the current team:
As an IUBB player you're held to a higher standard. You can't be a normal college kid but you get the privilege of wearing the candy stripes

Playing at IU is a privilege! The culture was built on hard work, accountability & understanding what it means to wear INDIANA on the front!
