Notre Dame fears torn ACL for team captain Rex Pflueger
One of Notre Dame’s most experienced players may be done for the season after suffering a serious injury on Saturday.
Fighting Irish guard Rex Pflueger landed awkwardly late in the second half of the team’s win over Purdue and had to be helped off the court, unable to put weight on his left leg. Coach Mike Brey admitted after the game that the fear was that Pflueger had suffered a torn ACL, and the Irish clearly feared the worst.
#NotreDame coach Mike Brey on Rex Pflueger – “There’s fear that it’s an ACL. “I’m sick. We may lose him for the year. It’s unbelievable. It’s like, come on now.
“I think we’re prepared for the worst.”— Tom Noie (@tnoieNDI) December 15, 2018
