The St John’s head coaching search will continue.
The Red Storm offered their men’s basketball head coaching position to Porter Moser after meeting with him on Monday, but he has turned them down, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Moser just completed his eighth season at Loyola-Chicago. He became known after the Ramblers’ surprising run to the Final Four a year ago, which marked by far his best season with the program. The Ramblers went 20-14 this past season and won the Missouri Valley Conference regular season but failed to earn a berth into the NCAA Tournament.
St John’s is looking for a new coach after parting ways with school legend Chris Mullin, who had gone 21-13 last season, which was his fourth season on the job. They were eliminated in the First Four round of the NCAA Tournament.
