USC Trojans head coach Eric Musselman is known for his fiery ways on the sidelines, and he brought that approach to the beach over the weekend.
In a video obtained by the California Post, a treasure hunter is shown having a heated exchange with the 61-year-old Musselman.
Apparently, the Trojans were posing for photos under the pier in Manhattan Beach, Calif., when the treasure hunter, Gary of the YouTube channel “Gary’s Metal Detecting,” entered the frame, according to Edward Lewis of the New York Post.
Here is the video showing the tense back-and-forth between Musselman and Gary.

It seems it was nothing more than a minor misunderstanding that didn’t really have to escalate into that kind of verbiage from the parties involved.
In any case, this doesn’t look good for Musselman, especially in light of a lawsuit filed against USC by former Trojans star Chad Baker-Mazara, who is alleging the head coach used inappropriate language against him during his time on the team.
Musselman is entering his third season as USC basketball head coach, but he’s got nothing nationally significant to show for his time with the team so far. The Trojans haven’t made the NCAA Tournament in the last two seasons and went just 14-26 in Big Ten play during that stretch.
Before getting hired by USC in 2024, Musselman coached for the Arkansas Razorbacks from 2019 to 2024 and for the Nevada Wolf Pack from 2015 to 2019.
