Ryan Odom says he is ‘totally focused’ on UMBC
Ryan Odom is still ride or die for the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Appearing Friday on 105.7 The Fan in Baltimore, the UMBC coach said that he has not been contacted by “any other big schools” and is “totally focused” on the Retrievers. Here was Odom’s quote, per Shawn Stepner of WMAR-TV.
#UMBC head men's basketball coach Ryan Odom, on @1057TheFan, regarding if he has been contacted by “any other big schools” says: "No. Not really." Says he is “totally focused on UMBC. Trying to capitalize on what we’ve been able to do here.” @UMBCAthletics @UMBC_MBB @ABC2NEWS

Odom, 43, raised his national profile (and then some) by leading UMBC to a historic 16-over-1 upset of Virginia in Round 1 of the NCAA Tournament. That has led to widespread buzz that he may be a candidate for a job at a bigger program (as is often the case with successful young mid-major coaches).
Nevertheless, it sounds like Odom is content to remain with the Retrievers (a program that he has led since 2016), and the feeling is obviously mutual here.
