St. John’s athletic director refutes talk of Chris Mullin losing job
Amid talk of a potential coaching change, St. John’s athletic director Mike Cragg denied that Chris Mullin was in danger of losing his job.
In a statement released Saturday, Cragg affirmatively stated that Mullin is the head coach of the Red Storm, and the program is “not looking for another head coach.”

There is talent in the program, and Mullin did lead the Red Storm to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in his tenure this season. It was a short stay, however, as they were bounced in the First Four. It’s fair to say further improvement will be required, though as a St. John’s legend, Mullin may have a bit more rope than another coach would in his situation.
