Alford was linked to the Nevada job early Wednesday afternoon and things quickly came together after that.
Alford has plenty of history in the Mountain West Conference. He went 155-52 in a six-season stint at New Mexico, making the NCAA Tournament three times while advancing to the second round twice. He won the regular season conference title in four of those seasons, and the Wolf Pack will be desperately hoping he can bring similar success to their program in his return to the conference.
