Top recruit AJ Dybantsa set to make millions in NIL deal
AJ Dybantsa is the top recruit in the 2025 college basketball recruiting class, and he is set to make millions in NIL money.
The 6-foot-9 wing player out of Utah Prep in Hurricane, Utah, is the No. 1 player according to 247 Sports’ rankings and composite rankings. He has not yet announced a college commitment and is believed to have high interest in Alabama, BYU, Kansas, Kansas State and North Carolina.
Just how much money could a player of his caliber command in an NIL deal to commit to a school? In the millions. And according to one report, BYU is prepared to pay big money to increase their chances of landing the home-state player.
On3 says BYU is prepared to pay in the $4-$4.5 million range to land Dybantsa.
Multiple sources tell @On3sports that No. 1 recruit AJ Dybantsa is expected to land an NIL package north of $3M and could get as high as $4M.
A source close to BYU said, “4 to $4.5 million is what they are prepared to pay.”

Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith and Danny Ainge reportedly are trying to rebuild BYU basketball, which just lost coach Mark Pope to Kentucky. The program’s new head coach is Kevin Young, who previously was an assistant coach for the Phoenix Suns.
Dybantsa, who would probably be a 1-and-done player in college, has the potential to carry a program in college.
I mean this is unreal. AJ Dybantsa is 6-foot-9 with this level of fluidity, shot-making, skill and shot-creation skills is unreal. He has SUPERSTAR written all over him. pic.twitter.com/a5KwxiGDYP

Dybantsa went on an official visit to BYU on the weekend of October 11. He did some work with Young during that visit.

Whether BYU is able to successfully keep Dybantsa in the state remains to be seen. But it seems like they won’t let money stand in their way.
