UCLA senior Skyy Clark poured more than just his blood, sweat, and tears into helping his team advance in the NCAA Tournament. He also ended up sacrificing a tooth.
Clark found himself on the hardwood fighting for possession in the second half of UCLA’s March Madness matchup against UCF at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pa. As Clark grappled with UCF guard Themus Fulks, he inadvertently took a hard elbow to the mouth.
The direct blow resulted in Clark losing part of one of his front teeth.

UCLA walk-on Jack Seidler, who did not take the floor for the contest, did his part by picking up Clark’s tooth fragment and bringing it back to him during a dead ball.

The basketball gods smiled upon Clark’s tooth sacrifice, as UCLA held on for a 75-71 victory to advance to the NCAA Tournament’s Round of 32. Clark finished with 8 points on 3/5 shooting to go along with 2 assists and 2 steals.
Despite having his smile impacted for the rest of March Madness, Clark was able to stay on the floor up until the final buzzer. Regardless of how far UCLA makes it in March Madness this year, Clark already won the tournament’s best souvenir.
