AJ McCarron’s mom showing support for Auburn’s Tre Mason
Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron told reporters last week that he will be rooting for Auburn in the BCS National Championship Game. We all understand the rivalry that exists between Alabama and Auburn, but McCarron still wants to see the crystal football trophy remain in in the SEC. McCarron’s mother Dee Dee feels the same way.
Over the weekend, Dee Dee tweeted her support of Auburn running back Tre Mason when she shared a photo of a shirt she said she has purchased and will be wearing on Monday, Jan. 6.
@TreMason21 welcome baby. Ordered shirts for game! Will be wearing this for you! pic.twitter.com/vCPEcTr3Uf

AJ also specifically mentioned Mason, who he became close with during Heisman Trophy weekend in New York City, when asked about his decision to root for the Tigers over Florida State.
“Getting to know his mom and his dad and him, they’re great people,” McCarron said, via AL.com. “Like I said before, I’ll definitely be rooting for him in the national championship game.”
Crimson Tide fans are probably cringing over AJ and Dee pulling for Mason and company, but there’s nothing wrong with respecting the competition. If Alabama can’t win another national championship, they might as well hope they lost to the best.
