Arizona kicks controversial transfer Santino Marchiol off team
Controversial Arizona transfer Santoni Marchiol won’t be on the team after all.
Arizona coach Kevin Sumlin said Monday that the linebacker, who was hoping to play this year after transferring from Texas A&M, has been told he is no longer part of the team.

Marchiol’s transfer has been a dramatic one. During the transfer process, he accused his former school, Texas A&M, of committing NCAA violations in terms of both cash payments and illegal practices and workouts.
That was not the end of it. On Friday, video surfaced that appeared to feature Marchiol using the word “monkey” to refer to black teammates at Texas A&M. The fact that Marchiol has been swiftly removed from the team would indicate that the video was legitimate and likely the reason for Sumlin’s decision.
