North Carolina target discusses Bill Belichick’s recruiting visit
What is it like to be recruited to a college program by Bill Belichick? Four-star edge rusher Zavion Griffin-Haynes was among the first to find out.
Griffin-Haynes got a recruiting visit from Belichick on Monday as the North Carolina coach formally hits the recruiting trail for the first time. The Rolesville, N.C. edge rusher shared photos of the visit on social media, and discussed the sorts of things that a Belichick visit entailed.

“He was telling me stuff coaches never told me, showing me stuff about my game, and just telling me stuff about the NFL and the program’s come up,” Griffin-Haynes told Sam Spiegelman of Rivals.

Griffin-Haynes had previously committed to North Carolina under Mack Brown, but reopened his recruitment after Brown left. Belichick made him a priority target, as evidenced by the early visit. The edge rusher is also receiving interest from the likes of Florida State and Notre Dame.
In addition to showing off his recruiting chops, Belichick is now an X member. He is clearly having to adapt a bit to his new job, but so far, he seems to be doing just fine.
