Braxton Miller not transferring, wants his son to attend Ohio State

Braxton Miller

After Cardale Jones led Ohio State to a BCS National Championship, speculation immediately began building that Braxton Miller would look to transfer.

That’s not going to happen.

On Tuesday, Miller told reporters that he never considered transferring from Ohio State and never met with other programs about the possibility.

“Nah, I’m a Buckeye man. I got a (tattoo) on my shoulder,” he said, per Doug Lesmerises of Northeast Ohio Media Group. “My son is going to come here one day.”

Miller has maintained all along that he will not leave Ohio State. However, he did say earlier this month that other schools “reached out hard” to gauge his interest in transferring. He backed off of that statement on Tuesday.

“It was just rumors,” Miller said. “Teams weren’t really reaching out, it was just rumors and stuff. So I’m a Buckeye and that’s it.”

Miller reportedly made some visits to a certain state that got college football fans buzzing, but that had to do with his doctor. There likely would have been plenty of opportunities for him to transfer if he really wanted to leave.

We all know Urban Meyer has his hands full, although J.T. Barrett’s dad thinks Miller deserves to keep his starting job. It’s unclear if Meyer will pick one of his three stud quarterbacks and award him the starting job or if he’ll try to use two or three of them. Whatever the Buckeyes decide to do, they will probably keep it a secret so opponents have less time to prepare.
