Christian McCaffrey had an outstanding sophomore season, one that earned him second place in the voting for the Heisman Trophy. Among those who feel he should have won the prestigious award is a man who was front and center after Friday’s Rose Bowl.

After the game, McCaffrey was being interviewed when a man wearing a Stanford had proceeded to draw attention to himself by yelling “Heisman!”

McCaffrey set a Rose Bowl record by racking up 368 all-purpose (172 rushing, 105 receiving, 91 return) yards during Stanford’s 45-16 win over Iowa. He also became the first person to have more than 100 yards both rushing and receiving in a Rose Bowl.

Despite being the runner-up in this year’s Heisman voting, playing for Stanford meant McCaffrey went unseen by many on the East Coast due to the late start times of some games. On Friday, the Rose Bowl was a showcase for what those who follow the Pac-12 have watched all season, one of the best players in college football.

Maybe this time next year, we will be talking about Christian McCaffrey, Heisman Trophy winner.
