Watch: Coaches get in heated shouting match in Florida-Vandy near-brawl
Things got very heated during Saturday’s Florida-Vanderbilt game after a targeting call led to both head coaches shouting at each other across the field.
Things started on a vicious instance of targeting by Florida’s James Houston IV on a punt return, which infuriated the Vanderbilt sideline.
Throwing a block like that when a player isn’t in the play is just disgusting. Two Florida players ejected one being Vosean Joseph who is a big part of this defense. Teams came out defending there coaches and had to separated. Crazy. pic.twitter.com/rJHkqEgT1z

The situation escalated quickly, as Gators defensive coordinator Todd Grantham began jawing with Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason, which led to Florida coach Dan Mullen getting involved.

Both benches ended up spilling into the field, and Houston and fellow Gator Vosean Joseph were ejected.

Mullen just about lost his mind here, but his team was in the wrong with a nasty block on the return. In the end, nobody ends up looking good after this.
