Watch: Ed Oliver confronts Major Applewhite over coat on sideline
Ed Oliver got into a heated confrontation with Houston Cougars head coach Major Applewhite on the sidelines during the team’s Thursday night game against Tulane.
The issue began when Oliver, who was inactive for the fourth straight game, put on a bubble coat intended to be warn by active players and was told to take it off, according to ESPN’s reporting. Oliver was steamed over the matter and had to be restrained as he was trying to confront Applewhite about it.

Oliver was not on the Cougars’ sideline after halftime despite being welcomed to be there, according to ESPN.
The junior defensive tackle has 51 tackles and three sacks in seven games but has not played since suffering a knee injury against Navy. He announced before the season that he would enter the 2019 NFL Draft, where he’s expected to be a top pick.
