Florida benches struggling QB Feleipe Franks for Kyle Trask
The Florida Gators benched struggling quarterback Feleipe Franks during the third quarter against Missouri on Saturday in favor of Kyle Trask.
Franks was just 9/22 for 84 yards, though he did have a rushing touchdown. He wasn’t moving the ball much as the Gators were getting blown out 35-10 by the Tigers.
Trask, a sophomore, was called on to replace Franks late in the third and took the team down the field. He led a touchdown drive on his first possession, converting a 4th-and-goal in the process.
Though Florida entered the game 6-2, Franks had not been terribly productive over the team’s previous four games. He had thrown four touchdowns and four interceptions during that span. On the season, he had thrown for fewer than 200 yards four times entering the game.
