Gene Chizik expected to take defensive coordinator job at North Carolina

Gene Chizik is getting back into coaching.

Chizik is expected to take the defensive coordinator position at North Carolina, according to ESPN reports.

Chizik was the head coach at Auburn from 2009-2012 and won the national championship with a 14-0 season in 2010. He was 33-19 over four years at Auburn and was fired following a 3-9 campaign in 2012. He has not coached since being fired.

Chizik played linebacker in college at Florida and has been a defensive-minded coach his entire career.
