Jevan Snead Gets Crushed, Knocked Out of Cotton Bowl After Hit

One of the favorite plays for a defensive player is an interception because once the ball is turned over, they get a free shot on the quarterback. Case in point: the Cotton Bowl where Ole Miss quarterback Jevan Snead threw his second interception of the game and then got picked off by Markelle Martin. Check out the Jevan Snead hit video and you’ll see why Snead had to take two series off:

Backup quarterback Nathan Stanley came in for Ole Miss’ next two offensive series to spell Snead as he recovered from the brutal hit. Stanley didn’t have to do much work on the first series since Dexter McCluster took a handoff right and ran it 86 yards for the first half’s only score. Stanley ran for a first down on the next series but was only 1/4 for 6 passing yards otherwise and didn’t perform very well. Snead threw three interceptions in the half so it’s hard to say if Stanley was worse. Maybe they should stick to handing the ball off to McCluster.
