Report: Jimbo Fisher tells Florida State he has no intention of leaving for LSU
Jimbo Fisher has reportedly told Florida State administration that he has no intention of leaving the school despite rumors that he’s the preferred replacement at LSU.
Fisher told school president John Thrasher that he is happy with the administration, support, and the direction of the program, sources told the Palm Beach Post’s Tom D’Angelo on Saturday.
Fisher also told Thrasher that he does not intend to take any other coaching job.
Fisher has been sticking to this story all week as the LSU rumors have intensified. He said he was very happy at Florida State during his Wednesday radio show as well.
“I’m happy where I’m at,” he said. “I’m very happy here. I’ve got a great job. You don’t ever get into that. That is why I don’t ever comment on jobs. I made that statement earlier that is disrespectful to both sides of it.
“I love this place. It is a great place and it has been very good to me. Hopefully I will end up being very good to it.”
If LSU do fire Les Miles, as is widely expected, one wonders where they’ll look if Fisher won’t come. It seems crazy that they’ll get rid of Miles without having an attainable replacement in mind.
