Details emerge in Joe Mixon parking ticket incident
Details have emerged in the parking ticket incident that led to Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon’s suspension from Thursday’s game against Iowa State.
The Sooners announced Tuesday that Mixon was suspended for Thursday’s game, and the running back later apologized for his treatment of a parking attendant. Now new details from the incident report reveal just how disrespectful Mixon was.
KFOR’s Jessica Bruno shared the information on Twitter:
According to the documents, Mixon ripped a parking ticket and threw it at the attendant saying, "don't put that sh*t in my face." @kfor

Mixon then allegedly drove toward the attendant to intimidate them and proceeded to park again on the north oval, despite a warning. @kfor

You knew that the incident had to be a little more than a guy throwing away a parking ticket in order to result in a suspension, and this explains it.
It may be tough to say, but when you read about allegations of a running back driving their car at someone in an attempt at intimidation, it’s hard not to think of Lawrence Phillips, who was arrested for doing something similar in his car. Mixon has a history of trouble and was suspended the entire 2014 season for punching a woman in the face at a bar. His off-field issues are a growing concern.
