The Florida Gators are off to a 3-0 start under new head coach Jon Sumrall, and the expectations for the team are increasing even beyond where the coach thinks they should be.
Florida is set to host the 3-0 Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday in Gainesville, Fla. Oddsmakers have installed Florida as a small favorite, likely due to their status as the home team. Even though both teams are 3-0, Ole Miss is ranked No. 4 in the AP poll, while Florida is now No. 21.
Sumrall spoke to the media on Monday for a weekly press conference. When he was presented with the information that his team was favored to win the game, he had a great reaction.

“Who has us favored against these guys?”

“There’s a lot of good drugs out there, huh?” Sumrall said.
It’s quite clear that Sumrall thinks Ole Miss is a strong team. It also seems like he doesn’t feel his team deserves the status of being a favorite against the Rebels just yet.
So far, Florida has beaten FAU, Campbell and they just won at Auburn. They are coming up on an extremely rough stretch in their schedule that will see them play four ranked teams over their next five games, including three teams currently ranked in the top 5 (Ole Miss, Texas and Georgia). With that type of schedule coming up, it’s easy to see why Sumrall wouldn’t be getting ahead of himself.
