Report: Josh Rosen will not play in Cactus Bowl
UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen’s college career is reportedly almost certainly over.
Sources told Tracy Pierson of 247 Sports that Rosen will sit out the Cactus Bowl. The junior quarterback has battled concussion symptoms and only practiced in a limited capacity during the week. With his status as a top NFL Draft pick near certain, it has apparently been decided that playing on Tuesday is not worth the risk.
As of three days ago, Rosen hadn’t even been cleared to play in the bowl game, so this doesn’t come as a shock.
Ultimately, Nov. 24’s win over California will go down as Rosen’s final collegiate game, barring something completely stunning. He sat out the second half of that game as well due to lingering symptoms.
