Alabama lost to Tennessee at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn., on Saturday, and the memes were not kind to Kalen DeBoer.

The first-year Alabama coach impressed fans by leading the Crimson Tide to a win over Georgia in their fourth game. But since then, the Tide have lost two of three, including being swept by the state of Tennessee’s SEC schools.

The results led to jokes and critical comments about DeBoer.

Nick Saban had said that the expectations for DeBoer this season are unfair considering how many players the Tide lost to transfers (27). But Alabama fans have no tolerance for that. They don’t care. They have been trained by Saban’s excellence to expect incredible results.

Beating Georgia was a great start, but much of that has since been undone by losses to Vandy and Tennessee. The Tide still has some tough games left on the schedule, including vs. Missouri, at LSU, vs. Mercer, at Oklahoma and home against Auburn to end the regular season.

If it weren’t for the expanded playoff field, Tide fans would be even more livid with DeBoer than they are now.
