The Kentucky Wildcats lost one of the most memorable figures in the history of their football program on Wednesday when former quarterback Jared Lorenzen died at 38.
Lorenzen was a four-year starter for Kentucky from 2000 to 2004, and threw 78 touchdowns for the Wildcats. While those teams weren’t exceptionally successful, Lorenzen was a memorable and exciting player who set a number of school records during his tenure, including passing yards and passing touchdowns.
After the news of Lorenzen’s passing spread, the team’s Twitter account posted a cool tribute to the quarterback.

Lorenzen remains the school’s all-time leader in both passing yards and total offense. He’ll long be fondly remembered in Lexington for his contributions.
