Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray had a rough day on Saturday, with a 48-45 loss to rival Texas that could have serious implications on the Sooners’ playoff hopes.
Murray threw for 304 yards and four touchdowns, but two turnovers proved key in the defeat, the first he’s suffered as Oklahoma’s starting quarterback. The Heisman contender emotionally admitted that losing to the Longhorns was a painful blow.
Kyler Murray pauses and tears up while discussing defeat: “I’m not used to losing. It hurts.”

The biggest mistake Murray made on the day was a rather inexplicable fumble that directly led to a Texas touchdown. That will stand out in his mind, but the Sooner defense did not have a great day even when the Longhorns weren’t getting great field position.
Perhaps making this even more painful for Murray is the fact that he might not get another shot at Texas, as he’s set to begin a baseball career at the end of the season.
