LSU legend Leonard Fournette certainly does not seem to have Jayden Daniels’ back when it comes to the controversy over the No. 5 jersey.
Fournette visited Baton Rouge this week and handed out chains to players with their numbers on them. That included cornerback DJ Pickett, who is the current recipient of Daniels’ No. 5.

The #LSU icon also took the time to provide the team with chains – gifting DJ Pickett a No. 5 chain on Wednesday.

Fournette clearly had no issue with his former No. 7 being issued, as he honored Trey’Dez Green and Whit Weeks, who will share the number this season.
Daniels has demanded that LSU stop using his name and image after handing No. 5 to Pickett. The current Washington Commanders quarterback believed the number had been retired, and has made a series of demands to LSU after discovering that is evidently not the case.
Fournette himself was a superstar for LSU and likely would have contended for the Heisman Trophy in 2016 if he had not been hobbled by injuries. His attitude toward the number is clearly a lot different than Daniels’ attitude toward No. 5.
