Les Miles hired by FOX Sports as TV analyst

Les Miles

Les Miles was unable to find a head coaching job that he considered worthwhile for the 2017 college football season, so he will have to settle for working as a TV analyst.

On Tuesday, FOX Sports officially announced the hirings of Miles, Mark Helfrich and Danny Kanell.

Miles said weeks ago that he has decided to join the media in multiple roles, though it is somewhat surprising that he ended up with FOX. About a month ago, he said he had tried out for a role with FOX and realized an analyst job was not for him. Apparently the 63-year-old changed his mind.

Miles was fired mid-season by LSU last year and pursued multiple jobs. His name came up for the Houston, Minnesota and Western Michigan jobs, but nothing developed. He has a colorful personality, so he should be a natural fit in the broadcasting studio.
