Texas QB Maalik Murphy set to visit 3 schools
Texas Longhorns quarterback Maalik Murphy is already hot property in the transfer portal, and has three visits lined up within a day of putting his name in.
Murphy visited Duke on Friday and has weekend visits set up with Baylor and Oregon State, according to Greg Biggins of 247 Sports.

Murphy is clearly viewed as an appealing option to schools that have already lost a starting quarterback to the portal. Riley Leonard left Duke for Notre Dame, while Oregon State’s DJ Uiagalelei has yet to make a decision on his next school after placing his name in the portal. Baylor is in the same boat, having lost two-year starter Blake Shapen to Mississippi State in the portal.
Murphy entered the portal on Thursday even though the Longhorns are preparing to play in the College Football Playoff. The redshirt freshman spent the season serving as Quinn Ewers’ primary backup, and showed enough in limited action that there were some jokes that he might force Arch Manning to transfer instead.
